Product Safety Candles
As a retailer, we are obliged to inform our customers about the proper handling of candles.
The following notes are recommendations from the Association of German Candle Manufacturers (Verbund Deutscher Kerzenhersteller e. V.), Frankfurt/Main. If you are not the direct end-user, please forward this information to them.
A candle is a living light. It must be cared for and constantly observed as an "open flame".
Maintain a safe distance between burning candles.
Do not burn candles too close to or above each other. 10 cm is a good distance.
Do not place candles in a draught
Candles do not tolerate draughts. In a draught, they will soot, drip and burn down unevenly.
Place candles upright and securely
Candles must stand straight so that they burn down evenly. Furthermore, the surface must be level and secure. If necessary, also heat-resistant. Use only suitable candle holders or glasses for safe use. Before use, check that they are stable.
Smother the flame - do not blow it out
Do not blow out the candle, but extinguish it properly with a candle snuffer.
Keep the liquid wax free of matches and dirt
Match remnants, wick pieces and other foreign objects do not belong in the wax pool.
Trim the wax rim if it is higher than 1 cm
A wax rim that is too high can be trimmed when warm. For candles with decals, trim the protruding rim at regular intervals.
Keep away from children and pets
Always keep candles away from children and pets. Never leave them alone unsupervised with a burning candle.
Keep away from flammable objects
Please keep the candle away from flammable objects.
Trim wick to 1 cm before lighting
Dip the wick into the liquid wax mass to extinguish it and straighten it again. This way it will be correctly positioned for lighting.
Use a heat-resistant candle holder
Always let the candle burn down on a fireproof coaster.
Never use liquid to extinguish.
Never pour liquid over a candle.
