Runes are far more than an ancient alphabet

By name, runes whisper a secret. They are far more than an ancient alphabet: They are symbols, carriers of energy, and independent entities that connect us with the past, present, and future.

This evening, I will give you an introduction to rune lore — where the runes come from, how they have been handed down, and the mythological cosmos that sustains them. Some history and cosmology are essential, because without them, the runes remain silent.

In the practical part, we will move on to rune toning: an exercise in which we make the runes resonate with our voice and experience them on a very direct, physical level. We will conclude the evening with a joint evaluation.

A word that is important to me: In the 20th century, runes were misused and appropriated by völkisch and National Socialist circles — and continue to be so to this day. This work has nothing to do with that and clearly opposes it. Runes belong to no ideology; they are a heritage open to all people who approach them with respect.

This introduction is open to all experience levels and spiritual backgrounds — you don't have to be Nordic-pagan to encounter the runes.
