The meaning of the smoking
The smoking ritual is still a fascinating experience, as has been the case since ancient times.
Noble substances such as wood, resins and herbs are converted into smoke when burned, which carries the essence to a subtle level. The meaning of the smoking was and is to combine our earthly thinking with the perception of subtle, invisible spheres.
We come to rest over the gently curling column of smoke and draw new powers for the soul.
Smoking
The burning of herbs and resins in different forms belongs to many old traditions in our world. In contrast to evaporating, the fire acts as an intermediary and relative. During burning, gross substances are converted into smoke that carries the essence to a subtle level.
This creates the connection with higher and finer levels. The meaning of the smoking was and is to combine our earthly thinking with the perception of subtle, invisible spheres through the smoke.
In principle, a distinction is made between two types of smoking:
1. The smoke on glowing coal
Traditionally, incense were smoked on glowing coal. You need a fire -proof container and possibly some sand.
Nowadays the most popular coal is the coal of diesel. It is simply in use because it lit through - once lit. But here, too, we should make sure that the coal gets enough air all around during the ignition process. It is better to put the round tablet upright (especially if we smoke on sand) so that it gets enough air for lighting through. As soon as gray areas become visible on the edges of the coal, you can tip it over again.
Now the smoking fun can begin. First dose carefully, as the smoke volume can be huge in both resins and herbs.
Another option is pure nature. These are pressed herbs that even create a pleasant fragrance. The herbal carbon slowly glows through and piece by piece glows the resin lying on it. So if the effect of the black coal is too violent, you can try the much gentler herbal carbon. It is best to smoke the herbal carbon on a mains container, as it gets more air for glimming than on sand.
2. The smoking on a sieve with tealight
The other type of smoking is smoking over a tealight with a sieve. This method is based on aromatherapy. A very fine sieve is attached at a distance of approx. 5 to 10 cm above a tealight. Aroma lamps are suitable for this, from which you can remove the shell and replace with a smoking strainer or, especially for the sieves, incense. The herbs or resins are put directly on the sieve. They slowly shine through the rising heat of the candle flame. Attention: If the network comes too close to the candle, herbs or resins could ignite. Please don't leave it unattended!
