The fly agaric (Amanita muscaria) is more than just a symbol from myths and fairy tales – it is an ancient companion between worlds. In the Ritual Manufaktur, we honor its power with the greatest respect, mindfulness, and attention to detail.

What active ingredients do fly agaric mushrooms contain?

The natural active ingredients of Amanita muscaria are: muscimol, ibotenic acid, muscazone, and muscarine.

Are there studies on fly agaric?

Yes, quite a few.

Several studies, such asPetter Grahl Johnstad (2019)orFrank Dugan (2017)demonstrate the effectiveness of small doses of Amanita muscaria.

Authors such as Baba Masha (2022) suggest benefits for depression and epilepsy, high blood pressure, insomnia, and loss of appetite.

In addition, there is evidence that a microdose of Amanita can also help alleviate pain, including supporting relief for rheumatoid arthritis, periodic pain, and migraines.

And in the past?

In the past, the fly agaric was orally consumed by shamanic cultures in Siberia and Northern Europe to support spiritual journeys and encourage visions.

Its use as an incense today can create a relaxing, clarifying, and inspiring atmosphere.

The effect of fly agaric powder can vary depending on the amount used for smoking.

We personally use it as follows:

Up to approx. 0.5 g - light smoking of the room:

For a calming and relaxing atmosphere that feels cozy and slow-paced. Ideal for meditation, perhaps in conjunction with cocoa, without overstimulating the senses.

approx. 1.5 g – the spirit of the fly agaric reveals itself:

A clearly noticeable intensity to increase focus and create a slightly trance-like atmosphere.

This amount of smoke is excellent for ceremonies or creative, artistic processes.

from 3 g – The plant spirit unfolds:

Particularly intense effect. The room is filled with its strong aroma, and the mixture is intended for traditional shamanic rituals to delve into and open deeper levels of consciousness.

This high dosage requires expertise, special caution, and experience, and is not suitable for beginners. It stems from the transmitted knowledge of shamans.

We recommend consuming the product within 30 months, as its quality may otherwise deteriorate.
